NCCI Changes the Experience Rating Formula– First time in 20 years

Below is a link to an excellent article that explains how most staffing companies workers compensation mods and rates will be increasing starting January 1, 2013.

https://www.ncci.com/documents/exp_rating_update.pdf

The net effect of this change is that if you have a negative mod (over 1.0) your mod and rates will likely increase. If your mod is less than 1.0, your mod and rates will probably improve.

Finally, we still have a few openings left to join us for complimentary lunch or dinner at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas during the American Staffing Association Conference. We can discuss these workers compensation changes and review options to keep your rates as low as possible.

Please just give me a call 202-302-1212 and let’s talk about what solutions are available for your workers compensation situation.

Bon appétit at the ASA Conference in Las Vegas

Work Comp Staffing Solutions is buying lunch or dinner at a fine dining Venetian restaurant for the first 10 people that schedule a 15 minute meeting with us to learn how we can help you reduce your Workers Comp cost by an average of 22%.

Workers Compensation costs for many light industrial staffing codes are growing at a much faster rate than profits. For example State rates for warehouse code 8292 in Georgia and California are 12% and 8.5% respectively — per $100 of payroll. Professional Employers Organizations (PEO’s) effectively offer you whole sale workers compensation rates. A typical PEO (that specializes in staffing) can offer the 8292 code in Georgia for about 8% and in California for about 5%. A 33% savings from State Rates. If you have a low mod, your savings can even be more. One of my Georgia staffing PEO clients has 1M in 8292 payroll. This Work Comp Staffing Solutions client saves nearly $40,000 annually by partnering with a PEO.

We hope to see you at the conference. Work Comp Staffing Solutions will be busy discussing workers compensation challenges and solutions with staffing firms and enjoying the Venetian’s fine cuisine with you.

New NCCI methodology will change premium calculations

Modified ex-mods penalize poor risk staffing companies

Starting in 2013, NCCI’s 38 member States will start to more severely penalize employers who have poor workers compensation loss histories. Conversely, employers who have good loss histories should receive some rate reductions through improved experience mods. This is the first change to this very important NCCI rate formula in 30 years!

The link / article below further explains this new change that will impact ALL staffing companies.

The Impact of Health Care Reform on Workers’ Compensation Costs

Below is a link to an excellent article about how work comp rates may further increase as a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA.)  I strongly suggest you take a look at this short article that was written by Donald  Harrison, who is is a distinguished employers workers compensation attorney in Alabama.

StaffingCompSolutions.com joins the California Staffing Association

In June, StaffingCompSolutions.com joined the California Staffing Professional Association (CSP.) StaffingCompSolutions.com has been a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA) for  years, but with the uptick in workers compensation rates especially in California, we have been receiving many inquiries for quotes from that great state.

We look forward to seeing our California clients at the CSP local meetings, and the rest of our clients in October in Las Vegas at the American Staffing Association National Conference.
