Dallas National has long been a carrier for many staffing companies work comp policies. Either through a Professional Employer Organization/PEO relationship , or via a direct policy.
As a result of potential insolvency, Dallas National has checked in to the Delaware “rehab. insurance hospital.” This is usually part of the process preceding the termination of high risk clients, like staffing companies– see link.

I strongly recommend that you contact your Agent or Broker to do a check up of your carrier’s health. Work Comp Staffing Solutions has relationships with a few PEO’s that still underwrite staffing. Please contact me at david@StaffingCompSolutions.com and visit us at www.StaffingCompSolutions.com. I would be glad to offer you a quote should you need to find a new workers compensation relationship.

Workers Compensation claims arising from mental Illnesses caused by work related activities may be on the rise. One of the primary reasons is that these claims are much more difficult to determine if they are fraudulent. The claims can be very costly to you as an employer, because treatment for these claims can last years and impact your mod rates.
Here is a great article that discusses this topic in more detail.

An excellent way to keep your workers compensation costs down is to partner with a Professional Employer Organization PEO. Since all workers compensation claims affect both you and the PEO (as co employers), the PEO has a huge incentive (and resources) to investigate and determine whether a claim is appropriate and legal BEFORE paying out.
Please feel free to contact Work Comp Staffing Solutions for a PEO quote and to discuss other ways a PEO may make sense for your business. Work Comp Staffing Solutions can be reached at david@StaffingCompSolutions.com and visit us at www.StaffingCompSolutions.com

A few weeks ago I mentioned how the NY State Fund bureaucracy lost Tina Fey’s workers compensation paper work and fined her 78K. Now it turns out that late last year, the NY State Fund did the same thing to Jim Carrey– which resulted in an unnecessary fine of 72K (see link below for details)

Somehow I can not see Tina and Jim staying up late with their accountants dealing with the financial and administrative consequences that resulted from the State Fund’s mistake. For non celebrity staffing folks like us, these mistakes can cause countless hours of headaches trying to correct.
A more efficient and less costly workers compensation and back office solution than the State Fund is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO.) A PEO that specializes in serving staffing companies. If you are like most staffing companies that still use your State Fund for work comp, you probably did not just raise your hand. But you may be wondering if there is an economical alternative to the State Fund.
Fortunately there is and it is called a Professional Employer Organization or PEO.
And more and more staffing companies are signing up with a PEO to get away from the State Fund’s high rates and poor service.
Here is a link that explains how a PEO can lower your workers compensation costs and improve back office efficiencies.

I have been finding workers compensation/PEO solutions for staffing companies for over 20 years. In fact, I used a PEO for my national staffing company for 10 years.
Contact me and let’s see if a PEO is the right workers compensation solution for you, so you can happily cancel your State Fund policy.

Here is a link detailing the 6.8M in humongous bonuses that California State Fund Managers and Executives have received while having approved huge rate increases to customers and running the fund into the ground.
I wonder how many other State Funds are approving big bonuses at the expense of their staffing stakeholders aka customers? Staffing companies deserve a workers compensation partner that cares more about keeping rates low and competitive, than prospering at the expense of their “stakeholders.”
A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) that has to keep their rates low (and levels of service high) in order to earn your business every day, is a perfect solution for your workers compensation challenges– so you can leave your State Fund behind.
Please feel free to contact me at davidstaffing@gmail.com or visit us at www.StaffingCompSolutions.com to discuss how you can start utilizing a workers compensation partner that cares more about your business than their next huge Payday from the State Fund.

By Effectively Using Light Duty Assignments With Your Injured Employees
When I owned my own multi state, 25K+ employee staffing company for 16 years, I often had discussions with my Professional Employer Organization (PEO) workers compensation risk management specialist about how I could control my workers compensation insurance costs. My PEO representative would remind me that the easiest and most direct way to lower my premiums, was to make sure that an injured worker is offered light duty assignments as soon as they get the green light from the medical doctor treating their injury.
Best Practices for using Light Duty Assignments
I followed that advice and always maintained a very low mod. Below is a GREAT article about best practices for using Light Duty effectively.

After you have had a chance to review this article, let’s talk about other ways to reduce your workers compensation insurance and back office costs by partnering with a Professional Employer Organization (PEO.)
