The good thing about this story is that through the vigilance of a workers compensation insurance investigator, this employee was identified and the fraud was finally stopped– but seemingly after quite a few years. The Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Commission (BWCC) was researching an employee’s workers compensation claim that she was not able to work because of her health issues following a work related accident. — for which she was collecting work comp benefits. A visit by the BWCC to her Facebook site and her other on line accounts indicated that she was on another job working, while collecting benefits. She received over $60,000 in fraudulent benefits– at her employer’s expense. Needless to say the BWCC (and her employer) were not too pleased to find out about this fraud. See link below.
